Proof of Concept - Chatbot for Aged Care Workers

This is a proof of concept Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application for aged care workers, using a set of documents from the Australian Government's Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission for its knowledge base. You can refer to our article on AI for not-for-profits for an overview of what RAG is and what it can do for your organisation.

The documents are specifically for aged care workers, and include things like a code of conduct, case studies of behaviours that do and do not comply with the code, and a couple of documents specifically about meal times. It uses a simple chatbot interface with a side panel for viewing referenced PDF documents - all you do is ask the chatbot a question about aged care work and it should return a response alongside references to documents in the knowledge base, if that knowledge exists.

Some example questions you could ask are:

  • What is aged care?
  • When was the Code of Conduct introduced?
  • Is it okay for me to accept a gift from a client?
  • Who do I contact if I have a concern?
  • An aged person has trouble eating. What do I need to be aware of?
  • My client has reported feelings of loneliness. How can I help them?

For the purposes of demonstration the documents have been stored publicly, and they're public documents anyway, but in practice it would all be limited to your organisation's private network.

Disclaimer: This demo is for illustrative purposes only. The provided documents as well as the AI model's responses have not been evaluated on accuracy. Do not use these responses to inform any part of your work. None of the data you enter will be stored or be visible to anyone else.
